Replace a machine that really changed, or correct a pre-handover assignment without inventing a replacement trip.

Steps.
Separate a selection mistake from a real swap
Take me there →If the machine has not been handed over, use Change unit or Choose equipment, untick the incorrect unit, tick the correct one, and use Save for an existing selection or Assign N units for an open slot. If the customer actually receives a replacement, choose Swap unit on the outgoing unit. If past custody names the wrong machine, collect the evidence and ask support for the appropriate correction.
Record the real replacement
In Swap equipment, choose the replacement and reason. Review meter evidence, service handling, and the movement plan. A pending assignment keeps the replacement assigned; an on-rent swap puts the replacement on rent immediately. Confirm only when that matches reality.
Check billing and recovery
For like-for-like equipment, the commercial line and cumulative billing continue. An on-rent change to a different class is blocked in this swap dialog; arrange a replacement commercial line with agreed terms instead. Check outgoing recovery, service work, replacement custody, and any offered downtime review.

Do not use a swap to cover a data-entry mistake after handover. It creates replacement history and may change current possession immediately; arranging trips is a separate plan.
Common problems and recovery.
The replacement is not available.
Read the window, commitment, location, and readiness blocker. Choose a suitable machine or resolve the linked issue.
You expected a downtime credit.
Review the actual pause interval when offered. A swap does not automatically issue a credit or refund; review the billing difference separately.
