Assign equipment to a rental
Attach a specific unit to a rental line after confirming it can cover the requested dates.
Before you start.
- Create a rental with an equipment line.
- Add at least one unit under the requested product.
Steps.
Open the rental line
Take me there →Open the rental and select the line that needs a physical unit.

Equipment history keeps the unit assignment attached to the rental line after return.
Open full-size screenshot (new tab)Review candidate units
Use the assignment control to inspect units for the rental window. Read current readiness, location, possession, and overlapping commitments before choosing.
Assign and verify
Choose the unit, acknowledge an allowed warning only after reviewing it, and save. Confirm that the rental line and unit detail both show the commitment.
warning
Do not assign an owned-fleet unit to a line marked Re-rent. Complete that line with its supplier details instead.
Common problems and recovery.
No candidate unit is available.
Change the rental window, resolve the unit’s displayed blocker, choose another product or unit, or use the Re-rent workflow shown on the line.
The line already looks fulfilled.
Review its assignment history before replacing or adding a unit; use the Swap or Unassign action shown on the line instead of creating conflicting history.
