Before you start.
- Open an active rental with one or more active assignments.
Steps.
Record the call-off
Take me there →Open the rental and choose Mark off rent. Enter the effective date and select the whole rental or only the lines and assignments the customer is returning.

Take me there →An Owner or Dispatcher opens the resulting pickup obligation or creates a pickup dispatch leg, then selects the units, date, window, address, and driver or carrier. A Yard Manager can record the off-rent return but cannot create the pickup leg.
Track the return chain
Complete pickup, receive the equipment, record its return condition, and finish inspection and Yard readiness work before expecting it to become Available.
warning
Off rent stops or defines rental-charge responsibility. It does not mean the unit is back, inspected, rent-ready, or finally invoiced.
Common problems and recovery.
Off rent did not make the unit Available.
Complete the pickup, return, inspection, and Yard readiness chain and resolve any service blockers.
Pickup is complete but the rental is still open.
Finish the remaining return, line, billing, and closeout work; pickup changes movement and custody only.
