Create and confirm a rental
Create the rental, review its risks, and confirm the order without confusing confirmation with possession.
Before you start.
- Create the customer, site, and equipment products.
- Know the rental window, logistics plan, and rates.
Steps.
Create the rental record
Take me there →Open Rentals and enter the customer, site, contact, dates or Open-ended choice, and delivery or pickup plan. Add the rental lines, quantities, rates, and applicable fees.

Create the rental and review its details before confirming the order.

Review availability, unit assignments, insurance or credit warnings, and any missing logistics before confirming.
When a specific owned unit is assigned for an overlapping period, that commitment affects unit-level availability.
Confirm the rental
Choose Confirm rental when the dates, pricing, customer, and logistics are ready. Then schedule the delivery, will-call release, or other handoff needed to begin customer responsibility.
warning
Confirmed does not mean On Rent. On-rent responsibility begins at delivery, customer pickup/release, or an explicit audited billable-before-possession exception. Credit holds, COD or cash accounts, and credit-limit exceptions require Owner approval.
Common problems and recovery.
Confirmation reports an availability conflict.
Review the unit and date overlap, then select another unit. Only proceed with a displayed override after reviewing the warning and confirming your role allows it.
The rental is confirmed but not On Rent.
Complete the delivery or customer-pickup handoff. Confirmation commits demand but does not prove possession.
