Check availability and understand why a unit is unavailable
Check a rental window, then follow assignment, possession, yard, or service facts when a machine cannot be promised.

Choose the rental window
Take me there →Open Availability and enter the requested start and end dates. Review product-level capacity before choosing a specific unit.
Availability is window-specific: a unit that is on rent today may still be available for a later, non-overlapping period.
Availability shows product capacity and each unit’s status for the selected rental window.

Inspect the unit’s current possession, location, assignment, dispatch, return, readiness, service blockers, and future commitments.
A machine can look physically idle and still be unavailable because it is committed to a confirmed overlapping rental or has not completed return/readiness work.
Follow the record that explains the conflict
If your role has access, open the linked rental, dispatch leg, Yard turn, inspection, or work order and complete the next action shown there. Do not manually force Available to hide an unresolved problem.
Sales and Sales Manager roles can review Availability and rental details, but should hand Dispatch, Yard, inspection, or service work to an Owner, Dispatcher, or Yard Manager.

A confirmed rental line without a specific assigned unit creates demand, but it does not make an arbitrary unit unavailable.
Common problems and recovery.
A unit looks idle but shows unavailable.
Check future commitments, possession, Yard work, inspections, and service blockers, then open the linked record.
The unit shows Needs Review.
Review the assignment and linked workflow conflicts. Contact support rather than certifying the unit Available when the conflict is unclear.
