Review and clean up old invoice drafts
Published 2026-09-30 · Updated 2026-09-30
Identify stale or duplicate working drafts, protect issued and settled history, and recreate only billing periods that still need an invoice.
Before you start.
- Know the rental, period, and reason the draft is outdated.
- Owner is required to delete invoices.
Steps.
Compare the draft with billing history
Take me there →Open Invoices and the rental’s billing record. Check the invoice number, state, period, payments, credits, deposits, and document history before removing anything.
Use the offered working-draft recovery
For a Billing Run, Recalculate remaining drafts replaces untouched working drafts with a fresh preview while retaining approved invoices. Edited or held drafts require review first. For an unused eligible draft, an Owner can use Delete invoice after reviewing the confirmation.
Check coverage before creating a replacement
Return to Ready to draft and confirm the still-unbilled period. Review new dates and rates, create one replacement, and compare the rental’s invoice list before approval.
warning
Do not delete or recreate issued or settled history to clear a warning. Deletion is refused for non-drafts, settlement history, or immutable document history; use the appropriate correction or support path.
Common problems and recovery.
Delete is blocked.
Read the settlement, integrity, or document-history reason. Retain the record and ask the billing owner or support to reconcile it; do not remove legitimate payments just to force deletion.
A new draft would overlap existing coverage.
Review the finalized invoice and remaining period. Resolve the existing record instead of billing the same days twice.
